By definition core is “the central, innermost, or most essential part of anything.” Core Shots Fitness began in the heart of the ski town of Whistler, British Columbia. Based on the term “core shot” when thinking about the stability of your skis. If the core shot of the ski is exposed the ski is bad. Core shots are the most tricky to fix and require the most work. This really resinated with me and can easily be said for our bodies if not properly conditioned.
In personal training terms, this simply means that without a strong core, we cannot generate power or accept forces – let alone stand, sit, walk, run or jump.
Core training is not about endless amounts of crunches but more about bracing all the muscles in your body that support your spine along with proper breathing. Every bicep curl, every squat, lunge and of course plank stems from bracing your core.
Core Shots Fitness also includes key strength, flexibility & mobility exercises to every program offered. Longevity being the focus leads to the best question - What do I need to do now as I age to maintain mobility? As we age without exercise our range of motion will shorten. Motion is lotion.
There is no one size fits all, just as there is no one activity to get the results you want or need. We as a whole are multi functional so would it just make sense to have a multifunctional fitness regime? Core Shots Fitness will help you create a balanced program.
